9/15 (1963) DO YOU REMEMBER?
Here in America we are taught and programmed to remember the "major" tragedies of the America. I cannot help but notice that there is always an extremely large amount a major tragedies left out of this remembrance. 50 years ago today four girls in Birmingham were killed in a senseless church bombing at the 16th Street Baptist Church.

When remembering the major tragedies of the world people tend to wipe out the ones that make America seem wrong in any manner. That cannot suffice when telling the true history of any place. History cannot be changed or altered to better fit the feelings of certain individuals. One cannot pick and choose what they want people to know about the past and leave out what they feel is necessary and truly believe that they are giving an accurate account of America.
America, the land of the free, the home of the brave....
Well these free people in that church on this Sunday 50 years ago were in America. Somehow still they were not free enough to praise their God in their church peacefully without having to suffer at the hands of cowards.
Martin Luther King said it best, “These children — unoffending, innocent, and beautiful — were the victims of one of the most vicious and tragic crimes ever perpetrated against humanity.”
So when you pull out the generic list of tragedies America gave you to remember, make a column to the right of those and add this one to it.
May these young ladies continue to Rest In Peace and to our world, REMEMBER to NEVER FORGET THEM.
