Clarence Williams, Director at WRAL TV5, came to my Mass Media and Society class to spread his wisdom on the industry and television business as well as his many life experiences. Mr. Chambers introduced him as his mentor and Williams introduced Chambers as a hardworking man. It was apparent that they were both very fond of one another due to the huge smiles plastered across their faces. Mr. Williams spoke of his position at the news station and was very informative about how ambitious the young Mr.Chambers had been and accredited his past and current successes to the drive and curiosity he displayed as a youngster. He was most insightful about having a hunger for your craft. He explained that in order to be successful you had to want it so badly and do everything it took to get it. What resonated with me the most was that he made the point of realizing there is always something new to learn and to enter every situation with an open mind, curiosity, and a thirst for knowledge.
